Today in Black History: Two young Black couples are viciously lynched by a mob in 1946 in an incident known as the "Monroe Massacre" in rural Georgia.

We will be on our annual summer hiatus Juy 28 through August 4. Today in Black American will resume posting on Tuesday August 5.
