Times of uncertainty can create great opportunity for those willing to look at the glass as half full. If you have recently been separated from your employer (or whatever it is that they are calling it these days), think about how you can create your own employment opportunity which may eventually become a true entrepreneurial venture. Say thanks to your former employer for providing you with seed capital and the push that got you headed down a new path. If you ever thought of doing your own thing (or even if you hadn't), now is your time. No risk (not like you are foregoing another job in this market), just upside. Worst case is that it gives you something productive and interesting to do for a year until the market rebounds (we hope). What are you waiting for? Make it happen and let us know how things are working out for you.
