I am en route to DC today for an event at The White House where President Bush will be delivering a speech on volunteerism. Despite the occupant, a visit to the executive mansion still holds some magic though I am surprised that I got cleared (or at least I think I did since I really won't know until I hit the gate). This is not my first visit but for someone who had politics in his blood at an early age, each time is still fascinating for me. It is truly the one building that is known is just about every corner of the world and the symbolism behind it is tremendous. Its significance is such that whoever is the occupant is bestowed with instant prestige and credibility. So while I may have fundamental disagreements with the current occupant, what the building represents has much greater meaning.
